What Would You Discard?
A daily riichi mahjong discard puzzle. One hand, one choice: which tile gets you to tenpai fastest? Pick, then see every option ranked.
How it's scored
Each hand is 14 tiles, after your draw. The best discard is the one that keeps you closest to tenpai (lowest shanten) and, among those, leaves the most tiles that improve the hand (ukeire), counting the copies you can't see. It's pure tile efficiency: no yaku, dora or defense, so the answer is exact.
Everyone gets the same hand each day, so you can compare with friends. Come back tomorrow for a new one, or keep practising with random hands.
